Dreamy December Days Challenge Day 6 & Update

Dreamy December Days
Every day of the Dreamy December Days Read-a-Thon, there is a challenge! Today's challenge was to share characters that you really love.

1. Princess Cimorene from the Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C Wrede. I loved Cimorene so much as a kid. I would imagine that I was her and tell myself stories of her adventures. She was kind, clever, and could cook.

2. Alexia from the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. I discovered the PP series a little over a year ago. After I discovered this series, I wanted to be Alexia. She is kind, clever, and is married to a very handsome werewolf. ;)

3. Harry, Hermione, and Ron from the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. I used to imagine that I was Hermione and dating Ron when I was younger. I really loved Hermione, again because she was kind and clever but she was far from perfect, which was comforting for me. :)

Update

I finished reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth and The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I continue to be "eh" about the Divergent series, but OMG, I LOVED The Darkest Minds. Granted, The Darkest Minds did have a few world building problems, but the pacing was fantastic. This story moved like no other. I really enjoyed the ride. I also started Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. I keep finding myself making excuses to read just one more chapter. :) I am one-third of the way through the book, and I just started this afternoon. It is super cute.

I haven't read the Parasol Protectorate books, but I agree on the trio from Harry Potter as well as Cimorene. Other favorites of mine are Anne of Green Gables, Jo March, and Keladry of Mindelan (Tamora Pierce's Protector of the Small quartet). If you liked Cimorene, give the Kel books a try.

I used to want to be Hermione too :-) Sorry to hear that Divergent is "eh" so far. I have it on my dying to read tbr, so that's disappointing. At least it's not bad. Looking up The Darkest Minds now!

Insurgent was kinda "eh" to me. Haha! I have Allegiant waiting for me, but I keep putting it off. :P And I LOVE Attachments. It's my favorite Rowell book so far. I haven't read Fangirl yet though. I have it on my Kindle, but I have a hardcover coming in January so I dunno if I should just wait. :P

You picked some great books too! I need to give Pierce's books a try. I won Battle Magic from a GoodReads giveaway, and it was hard for me to enjoy it since it is in the middle of the series and I was missing a lot of background. I hear so many amazing things about her books; I just need to start with book 1! :)

I think there is just so much hype about the book that it couldn't live up to my expectations. Clearly, I am in the minority when it comes to people's feelings about Divergent. :) The Darkest Minds on the other hand is amazing. All *that* hype is true. ;)

As much as I am not eager to start Allegiant, I want to be spoiler free, so I know I need to read it ASAP. I am starting to hear hints of spoilers on blogs and youtube channels now. People were good about keeping quiet about the book, but it has been a few weeks now.

Isn't Attachments amazing? This book makes so happy. Hopefully, there will not be some horrible turn of events!

Well, when we all go to Hogwarts we can make sure to get there before break happens, so we can meet Harry and the gang! I think this is going to be an excellent road trip. :)

I hope you enjoy it, and it lives up to the hype. :) Although I liked the series from the first book, most adults start enjoying the series starting with book 3 (HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban). I look forward to hearing how you enjoy it. :)
