Sunday Update!

This has been a pretty quiet week. I spent most of my time hanging out with family and playing board games. I only really picked up a book yesterday. It was nice taking a little break from everything, but I am looking forward to reading and blogging more in the new year. :)

Book Haul
From Giveaways

What the Tweet!

I received What the Tweet? by Bill Liao and Deirdre Nuttall from the GoodReads First Reads program.

Purchased

Doctor SleepThe Scorpio Races

I purchased The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater and Doctor Sleep by Stephen King as e-books for $1.99 each! Because I can get most books at my library or through galley websites, I try to keep my book purchasing to a minimum. I try not to buy e-books for more than $3. This doesn't always work out, but I like the challenge. :)

Currently Reading

A Study in Ashes by Emma Jane Holloway: I didn't do a lot of reading this week, so I am still working on this book. I just discovered this is the final book in a trilogy. I picked it up under a misunderstanding that I will explain in my review. I am enjoying it though.

A Dance with Dragons by GRR Martin: I haven't had a chance to listen to this book at all this week. I need to carve out a little time in the coming week.

Read This Week

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I can't wait to see what you think of Doctor Sleep! I've owned it for a few months and haven't got around to reading it yet!

I really enjoyed The Scorpio Races. It is such a unique story and the characters are so good. Maggie just has such good writing too. If you haven't read it, I hope you enjoy it!

You've really been reading those Rainbow Rowell books! Glad you enjoyed them both. I really like your connection between fanfiction and book blogging. I've never thought about the two being similar, but they really are. It's like we're writing fan non-fiction. Can we make that a thing? I think what I love most about Rowell are her complex characters. Cath is frustrating at times, Reagan is harsh, Levi is just lost, and Wren is not the best sister or friend...but these characters are all so much much more. I look forward to reading both The Attachments and Landline in 2014 because I can't get enough of Rowell!

I really need to try out The Shining and Doctor Sleep, I've heard a lot of good things about both and I really want to get through a Stephen King novel.

It will be a little while before I get to it, because I still need to read The Shining! I couldn't say no to $1.99 for the book. I do want to read these two books next year though.

I haven't read The Shining yet, so I am going to be slow to read it too. The tentative plan is to read it in 2014 though. :)

I did a Rainbow Rowell readathon this month. This is why I suddenly went on a binge with her books. I enjoyed Attachments, but I didn't like it as much as her two YA books. I can't wait to read Landline though.

I think we should totally make fan non-fiction writing a thing. We are fans and we write non-fiction. :)

I am looking forward to read them too because of all the good buzz. Stephen King has written a lot of different books, so I am sure you will find one to your tastes. :)

Let me know when you are going to read it. I will see if I can read it at the same time. :)
