Welcome to my edition of the Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Sunday Post meme and Tynga's Reviews' Stacking the Shelves meme. Check out what I have been doing this week (and will do next week) and my book haul.
I went graphic novel crazy this week. Last week, I discovered Saga by Brian Vaughan, and now I can't get enough. I have been reading lots of Top 100 lists and requesting a stack of graphic novels/comics from the library. I think I have a third of their graphic novel collection in my house. Okay, I just checked. I have 41 graphic novels checked out of the library. I told my husband that I think I am really getting into graphic novels, because (1) I found some that really clicked for me (I loved, loved, loved Saga) and (2) I am getting tired of a lot of the television shows that I watch and graphic novels are filling that void.
If you want to get into graphic novels/comics, I definitely recommend checking out your local library. Your library should have a section of the very popular comics (at the very least). You can see what you like and go from there. Also, you can get a few issues for free through Comixology and comic publishing houses (e.g., Dark Horse) and read the issues via their apps. At the same time, if you have money to spare and prefer to read in print, check out your local, friendly comic book store. A single issue isn't pricey (less than $5), and you can try out a few things for $10.

I went on a bit of a graphic novel binge this week. I am not going to list them all here, because I will be typing until tomorrow. I got a little bit of everything.
Bought
I picked up Little Bee by Chris Cleave. I also picked up The Uncanny X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga by Chris Claremont and John Byrne at my local bookstore.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen: This is a bit rough so far, but I am hoping that I will get more into it soon!
