Thoughtful Thursday: Multiple Editions

Thoughtful Thursday
It is time for Thoughtful Thursday and the bookish questions that pop up while I am reading. Please share your thoughts on the bookish question of the week. I am curious to hear what you have to say! There are no wrong answers. Questions about Thoughtful Thursday or future Thoughtful Thursday posts? Check out my Thoughtful Thursday section. Alright, on to the question!

Have you ever bought multiple editions of the same book? What inspires you to do that (e.g., covers, language, author revisions)?

I own multiple editions of several books and for several different reasons! :)

1. I own several books in both audio book and e-book format. I have used whispersync on my kindle a few times, and I love it! (Whispersync allows you to switch between an Audible book and a kindle book.) Also, sometimes you get a huge discount on the Audible book, if you own the e-book (sometimes it is cheaper to buy the ebook and then buy the Audible book instead of using an Audible credit!).

2. I own a few books in both print and ebook format. I don't own too many in both versions, because I donated most of my print books when I switched to ebook format. I mainly kept physical books that I thought were really nice or that the physical book "pluses" the reading experience. For example, books with colored text and/or lots of illustrations.

3. I also own a few books in both English and Spanish. In particular, I have the Harry Potter series in both languages. I thought that it would help me with my Spanish. Unfortunately, Harry Potter has so many made-up words that reading the series is a bit challenging.

With all of that said, you might be wondering what book/series I own the most times over. Well, that is easy. I own the Harry Potter series several times over. I have the audiobooks, the American ebook edition in both English and Spanish, the British print edition, and most of the American print edition as well. This is weird right? It is weird. I can't honestly say that this is my favorite series ever (that accolade goes to the Enchanted Forest chronicles by Patricia C Wrede); however, I love the Harry Potter universe so much. I love having multiple ways of getting lost in this series.

Now it is your turn! Have you ever bought multiple editions of the same book?
