Sunday Update - 2/23

Welcome to my edition of the Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Sunday Post meme and Tynga's Reviews' Stacking the Shelves meme. Check out what I have been doing this week (and will do next week) and my book haul.

Nothing too exciting has been happening this week. I spent most of my free time reading or watching the Olympics. I wish I could say more, but it really has been a quiet week. :)

Book Haul

ARCs & Galleys
The Sentinel by Troy Denning

I have been reading down my ARC pile, so I decided to request a few recently. I play Dungeons & Dragons with my friends, so I decided to read The Sentinel by Troy Denning.

From Giveaways
Saint Monolith by Tom ReinhartHegemonian by Tom ReinhartSpy Noon by Jordan McCollum

I received books from two lovely bloggers this week. First, I received Hegemonian and Saint Monolith by Tom Reinhart from the lovely Chené from Mean Who You Are. Second, I received Spy Noon by Jordan McCollum from the lovely Tressa from Tressa's Wishful Endings.

From the Library
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle HodkinThe Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I got The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. I have heard mixed reviews of this series, but the premise sounds intriguing.

Bought

I picked up two books at the local Goodwill today. I got Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling and Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones collected and retold by Alvin Schwartz. I am excited that the British edition of the Harry Potter book was at my local Goodwill, even though I was specifically looking for the US version.

Currently Reading

A Dance with Dragons: I am slowly making my way through this book. My favorite characters don't have any (or limited) face time in this book, so I am less inspired to pick it up. I know that I will enjoy it, if I just sit and read it. I think I would just prefer to read something happier right now.

The Way of Kings: Normally I wouldn't read two epic fantasies at the same time, but the sequel is coming out next week, and I want to get in on the ground floor of this rumored ten book series. It is a really wonderful book so far.

All Together Dead: Sookie is having a hard time in this book. The vampires aren't treating Sookie very well.

Scarlet: I just started this book on Saturday, and I have a feeling that I will finish it today. :)
