TTT: Ten Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't

Top Ten Tuesday

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week bloggers post a top ten list related to a specific theme. This week's theme is Ten Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't. All links lead to GoodReads.

Half Magic by Edward Eager

I read this book as a kid. I started it in my tweens and then put it down, because I thought it was boring. I finally finished it a few years later.

Caliban's War by James SA Corey

I put this book down for a few weeks, because something happened in the book, and I wasn't sure if it was a lie or not. If the "something" wasn't a lie, I didn't want to finish the book. After a few weeks, I decided to pick up the book. Luckily, it was all good. :)

A Dance with Dragons by GRR Martin

This book was a bit painful for me to finish. I got a bit burnt out on epic fantasy, sexual violence, and slow plots. I am glad that I finished the book though. I can anxiously await book six now with everyone else.

Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie

I got bored a little bit while reading this book; however, I am glad that I pushed through it, because the book really is clever. It deserves all the award nominations it has been receiving.

Doomsday Book by Connie Willis

I love this book so much; however, when I first started reading it, I was a bit iffy. I am glad that I kept reading it, because the book was amazing.

His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik

I started this audio book multiple times, because I kept getting distracted. I almost put it down, because I couldn't get into it. I am glad that I gave it another try, because I do love this series.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
This was another chunky book that I was feeling a bit iffy about when I first started reading it. I soon became addicted to the story, and found excuses to complete the audio book.

Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

The middle of this book was long and boring. In all seriousness, you start reading this book about 2/3 - 3/4 into the book. I switched from the ebook to the audio book. I am glad that I finished the book, because the ending was quite satisfying (at least to me).

Watchmen by Alan Moore

I put this graphic novel down for a while, but I am glad that I picked it back up. I want to reread this book again, now that I know the entire story.

The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman

This was another book that I put down for a while but later picked up. I am so glad that I did, because it was quite good. BTW, the audio books have full casts and are fantastic!
