TTT: Top Ten Books I've Read So Far This Year

Top Ten Tuesday

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week bloggers post a top ten list related to a specific theme. This week's theme is Top Ten Books I've Read So Far This Year. All links lead to GoodReads.

The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
This book ended up on the top of my TBR pile, because it was the only audio book downloaded onto my phone, and I was about to drive three hours to my mom's house. I was originally iffy about listening to this book, but I am so glad that I did. I was immediately captured by the story.

The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer

I read the entire Lunar Chronicles series this year, and I loved it so much. It was great fun. I can't wait to see how the entire series ends next year with Winter.

The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
I read The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance this year. Oh my goodness. These books were amazing, especially Words of Radiance. If you are looking for an epic fantasy series and want to start it at the beginning (book two of ten came out this year), read The Stormlight Archive.

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
This was such a unique, extraordinary, and quiet book. This book was a great court intrigue story within a fantasy realm.

The Martian by Andy Weir
The Martian is a great combination of Apollo 13 and Cast Away. I really recommend listening to this book. The reader does a great job of making an exciting story even better.

Saga by Brian Vaughn
I have been on a graphic novel reading binge, and it is due to reading Saga. The first 18 issues have been collected into three trade paperback volumes, and issue #19 just came out last month. This is a truly fantastic series.

The Tropic of Serpents by Marie Brennan
I read A Natural History of Dragons last year, and I loved it. I really enjoyed the sequel, and I can't wait for book three!

Newflesh trilogy by Mira Grant

I read Feed last year, and I loved, loved, loved it. I finally listened to Deadline and Blackout this year, and found them to be quite good. I am now eagerly anticipating the newly announced book four, Rewind that comes out next year.
Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh
I love Brosh's online comic with the same name. I am so happy to have a hard copy of some of her best comics to read whenever I want.
Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris

I listened to books five through thirteen this year. There were some high and low points throughout the series, but I did really enjoy the series all the way through. I can see myself listening to this series again and again.
