Sunday Update!

This has been a great week! I just came home from watching Catching Fire, which was fantastic. I can't wait to see Mockingjay! I may have to read Mockingjay this week to get some closure. I also got a bunch of great books in the mail. :) Oh, and I finished Ancillary Justice! Hurray!

Book Haul
For Review

I received two books for review this week. I received Hangwire by Adam Christopher from the publisher, and I received GeoCrafts: Travel around the World in 15 Fun-Filled Projects by Harry R Fisher Jr. from the GoodReads First Reads Program.

From Giveaways

I received a few books from giveaways in the last two weeks. First, I won Starring in the Movie of My Life by Laurel Osterkamp on Fantasy Is More Fun. Second, I won Commune of Women by Suzan Still on It's All About Books. Finally, I won a book of my choice on Actin' Up With Book from a Holiday #Readathon giveaway. I chose Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened by Allie Brosh.

Currently Reading

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell: This is another great story by Rowell. I am a little surprised that this book deals with some difficult family situations. (Eleanor and Park are teenagers and Eleanor's family life isn't great.)

A Dance with Dragons by GRR Martin: The audiobook was available at the library, so I decided to jump on it. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but I am enjoying it. I am on a Bran chapter, and I always like Bran.

Holiday #Readathon

I realized that I never did a wrap-up post for the Holiday #Readathon. I did not do well on any of my book goals. I didn't finish one book. I was out and about with friends more often than I thought that weekend. I did participate in the Twitter party, visit five new-to-me blogs, and participate in most of the challenges. I was very fortunate, and I won prizes from Actin' Up With Book, WhoRuBlog, and Fiction State of Mind

I've heard Catching Fire is great, I want to see it even though I haven't read the books. :) Between that and the Hobbit...

Eleanor and Park is good I'm sure. And dance with Dragons... have fun w/ that one. Bran has some interesting things happen in that one...

Catching Fire is a great book and movie. Even if you are not normally a YA fan, this is a great trilogy. Most husband isn't a big reader, but even he couldn't put them down.

I still need to see the second Hobbit movie, but I am not in a rush to see it. I was not a fan of the first one. I just didn't like some of the decisions that were made regarding the primary material. I guess I shouldn't have read the book right before the movie came out! The trilogy will be beautiful though!

I'm so excited we both get to read HangWire together!!! Adam Christopher is such a cool guy! I heard him do a reading from it at WorldCon so I'm seriously excited for it. It pubs the day before my birthday!

I am actually reading Hyperbole and a Half right now!! It's good so far. I had to put it down for a little bit because I was way into it and needed to go to bed.

I think I liked CF even more than HG. You should check out Hyperbole & a Half, it is fantastic. She has a blog that you see her work.

I was thinking the same thing! I have a few things that I need to read before I get to it; however, I will have it done by pub day! :)

I have taken a few peeks at it, and it is hilarious. If you like her blog, you will love the book! :)

The only reason I finally saw it was because a friend also needed to see it, so we made plans. If I was left to my own devices, I would be getting it from the library. :)
