Top Ten Tuesday

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week bloggers post a top ten list related to a specific theme. This week's theme is Top Ten Debuts I Am Excited For. All links lead to GoodReads.

Alienated by Melissa Landers

1. Alienated by Melissa Landers
I must admit that the cover is what attracted me to this book. It is pretty. :) The story sounds pretty interesting too. A human and alien fall in love. Also, the aliens might be trying to take over the world too.

The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd

2. The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
I have really enjoyed Kidd's previous novels, so I am excited to at least take a peek at this one. The story isn't something I would normally read, but I love Kidd's writing.

Defy by Sara B Larson

3. Defy by Sara B Larson
I am intrigued by this tale of a girl who is pretending to be a boy, so she can be a knight.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

4. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
I have been hearing mixed things about this book; however, I love the cover and I enjoy fairy tale retellings.

Dear Killer by Katherine Ewell

5. Dear Killer by Katherine Ewell
I enjoy stories about criminals, and this one about a teenage serial killer has got me intrigued.

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

6. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
This is another retelling that looks interesting. In this tale, Amy, the other girl from Kansas, has to stop Dorothy who has let the power of Oz go to her head.

The Amazing Thing about the Way It Goes by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

7. The Amazing Thing about the Way It Goes by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
Pearl-McPhee is one of the very, very few authors of whom I have read everything. She writes humorous memoirs about knitting.

Don't Look Back by Jennifer L Armentrout

8. Don't Look Back by Jennifer L Armentrout
I haven't read anything by Armentrout, but I have heard a lot of good things about her other series. This story about a girl who loses her memory sounds interesting.

Landline by Rainbow Rowell

9. Landline by Rainbow Rowell
I just went on a Rainbow Rowell bender, and I loved all three of her books. I am excited to see what her next book has in store for me.

Vitro by Jessica Khoury

10. Vitro by Jessica Khoury
I love books about people pushing the boundaries of science and something going terribly wrong.

I've recently read Alienated! It was an easy read. I really want to read Cruel Beauty too.

Nice list, Pamela! Both Defy and Alienated are on mine today, too. And I'm going to check out some of the others you mentioned, especially Landline somehow grabbed my interest.

Happy reading :)

Congrats for getting to 10. I really struggled and only made 4 because I thought debuts might be referring to new series or new authors.

I have Alienated on my list too. Keeping my fingers crossed! I wanted to check out Defy but heard some not-so-great reviews that scared me a way a bit. I'll have to tune in to see how you liked it!

And, I've just read Fangirl (Ohmygodness) and now have a new fav author in Rainbow Rowell. Good to see she has more coming in 2014!

Great picks! I have most of these on my TBR list as well. There are just way too many books to read, and waaayyyy too little time!

Defy looks like it has potential, still deciding if I want to request it or not. Dorothy Must Die is probably going to be a must read in my house due to my wife's love of Oz.

I'm also looking forward to Don't Look Back, Defy and Dear Killer(:
...and this is the first list I came across Alienated. The plot sounds interesting and this seems to be the first time I see a YA Novel that involves alien... sounds nice... I'm definitely looking forward to this one now :3

I was totally drawn to the cover of ALIENATED! I have this on my list as well. I must've missed DEFY, because that sounds really interesting. We'll have to compare notes once we've read them all :-)

I'm excited for Alienated too, can't wait to start that! I've been reading Rainbow Rowell lately and I can't wait for Landline!! I really enjoyed Cruel Beauty (:

I only managed 5 books for today's list. I really need to try out another Rowell book, Fangirl was so-so for me and it kind of saddens me that I enjoy it as much as everyone else. I can't wait for Cruel Beauty either!

Yay! I've already read Cruel Beauty and it was really an interesting read. I must say that it was a unique take on the Beauty and Beast retelling. Looking forward to your review of it.

Alienated as been on my radar for a while but I am not so sure if I will pursue on reading it since I still have a lot of books to read and review. I hope you'll be able to read all of the books above and find enjoyment in them.

Our list are VERY similar! I am ready Defy now. It's good it's just slow going, I feel like that is going to change as I get further in but my ADD brain is making it difficult to trudge on! lol. Awesome List!

Alienated has been on my list for a while, but the others are new to me. I may need to expand my TBR! I love YA!
