Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Worlds I Would Never Want To Live In

Top Ten Tuesday

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week bloggers post a top ten list related to a specific theme. This week's theme is Top Ten Worlds I Would Never Want To Live In. All links lead to GoodReads.

* I am only referring to the first book in series, because sometimes the world got a bit better.*

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

3. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
Nobody is happy in this world, the kids or the adults. Fear has set in.

4. World War Z by Max Brooks

Ha, I love your list this week Pamela. I have Bella and Katniss on my list for those that I wouldn't want to trade places with.

The first two made my list, too. Game of Thrones doesn't sound like a nice place to be either.

Nice picks! My mom wouldn't let me read Goosebumps when I was young because she thought I'd get too scared. I wore her down and read my first one, and was totally freaked out! Mom was right and, no, not even as an adult do I want to live in this world.

Good choices! I'm not real fond of zombies myself, actually. And yeah to Game of Thrones- good grief would there be anything worse than being a peasant in that world?? :)

I agree 100% with #1,2,and 4. Those are the worse. Have you read Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. Here world is here in the future and its awful and so realistic. Great picks!

"If you are a peasant in this world, you just die." Or a Stark :D
As for ASoIaF, I'd like to live there, I think. :D
Happy reading!

LOl, Goosebumps! I wouldn't have thought of that but it's so true....any world where dummies, disembodied hands or monster hamsters are a reality is just not worth it.

I noticed a lot of Katnisses in this week's TTT. No one wants to live in Panem!

Westeros is not a good place to live!

Pamela D said...

There are so many horrible places in fiction, I can see how you can forget about Panem. :)

Am I right? Nobody wants to hang out with sparkly vampires.

Pamela D said...
January 28, 2014 at 8:34 PM

I think Westeros may actually be worse than Panem.

As long as there is heat and coffee I will live anywhere..but expect me to be living out on my own away from civilization..perhaps in an abandon library..LOL

My friend and I did a marathon of the Goosebumps show a few months ago, and it reminded me of how crazy that universe is!

Pamela D said...

Exactly! I don't want to live in a world where dummies are alive!

Pamela D said...

An abandoned library sounds great. Just make sure that you have a second pair of your glasses, if you don't have perfect vision. You don't want to be like that guy in the Twilight Zone episode.

EEK!!! World War Z... absolutely. I hate zombies. Oh, so of course Feed is awful as well! Haha... Twilight makes me laugh lol. The world of Goosebumps is awful! You had some great, unique choices... I would never have though to pick Goosebumps!!

HAHAHAHA TWILIGHT!
omg that's hilarious. so true though. SO TRUE.
And I actually haven't read the book, but I have seen the movie and World War Z would be a terrible world to live in- the zombies were so fast in the movie D: Freaking scary!

I watched the Goosebumps show recently with a friend, so the series was fresh in my head. :) I am glad that you liked my picks! :)

Zombies are my worst fear, because in zombie books/movies, a cure is never discovered. The zombies always win.

Great list, Pamela! As much as I love reading, and immersing me in those world for the time the story lasts (and sometimes a little bit longer) I don't think there is any worlds I'd actually want to live in. I love my own world just the way it is :)
